Honoring Our K-9 Heroes

Centennial Arts and Cultural Foundation (CACF) is proud to launch the fundraising campaign to honor the K-9 Units within the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO).

The ACSO started its first K-9 Patrol Units in 1986. Today, the ACSO has six K-9 Patrol Unit and recently added K-9’s as part of the School Resource Officer program. The K-9 Patrol Units focus on apprehension and evidence detection. The K-9’s within the SRO program are therapy dogs that work alongside our deputies to provide security in our schools.

These K-9’s have become a beloved partner in law enforcement and our community.

Partnering with the ACSO and K-9 Back the Blue, CACF is initiating a fund raising effort to memorialize our love and respect for these K-9’s in Centennial Center Park.

Thank you for supporting this effort. The sculptures are in the works and expected to be placed in Centennial Center Park near the splash pad in Summer of 2026. K-9’s Atlas and Rex were selected by the Deputies of the ACSO to represent the units based on their dedication and commitment to serving our community.

A granite placard will be installed near the sculptures for any organization donating $5,000 or more to this wonderful addition to the park.

ACSO Sheriff Tyler Brown and K-9 Back the Blue Founder, Diane Lewis are both supporting this effort and assisting in our fundraising efforts.
